“COSTA RICA VERDE Y LIMPIA” PROGRAM DECLARED OF NATIONAL INTEREST

The government of Costa Rica has declared of national interest the environmental program “Costa Rica Verde y Limpia,” a campaign launched by Terra Nostra Association and which seeks to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of proper waste management. 

The declaration was officially published in La Gaceta on July 20th.

The program, which started in June, aims at turning Costa Rica into a truly clean country by the year 2015. Besides cleaning activities, the program includes workshops, lectures, trainings, cultural activities and building partnerships with schools, institutions, municipalities, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations.

“Costa Rica Verde y Limpia” has the support of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications (MINAET) the Water and Sewage Institute (AyA), the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), Central de Radios and Repretel.
